ROAM fitness is revolutionising the way you can work out as a frequent flyer.
The start-up believes in giving back “me-time” to the health conscious traveller. Believing airports are the next best thing for travellers, providing an escape from the monotony of airports, a place to indulge in me-time and improve wellness; ROAM has opened their first gym at Baltimore-Washington International Airport.
It is 1,175 sq ft and lets you get your sweat on once you’ve made it through security. When it comes to amenities, ROAM have left nothing unattended, with Lululemon workout gear available to borrow and complimentary Malin+Goetz products in the showers (yes we said showers!). Open from 5am until 10pm, you’ll have your pick from a range of cardio machines, free weights and space for stretching. Along with every workout you get a 15 minute shower reserved for you, either when you check-in or if you’re a member you can reserve online! So…um yeah, that means hot shower in the airports whenever you want! Even if you don’t have time for a work out you could go to enjoy a shower before your meeting…perfect!
When constantly on the go, we know how it important it is to try and stick to routines, keeping healthy and working out as a frequent flyer isn’t the easiest thing. However, with ROAM’s introduction of airport gyms, this could really change the future of being able to keep up with exercise and wellness routines when travelling 2-3 times a week.
To get a slice of the action, you have three payment options:
- A day pass for $40
- Monthly membership for $175
- Annual membership for $600
Even though currently ROAM is only available in Baltimore-Washington International Airport, they have future plans to be in over two dozen of the world’s airports.
Do you think you’d take advantage of a gym in the airport during layovers?
